Frequently Asked Questions

Compulsary Basic Training (CBT)

Who needs to take CBT - anyone wishing to ride a moped or motorcycle of up to 125cc (this is the maximum a provisional lisence holder can ride).

How old do I have to be - 16 or over.


Do I need a provisional licence before I can do my CBT course - Yes.


How long is the certificate valid for - 2 years.


What size bike can I ride up to once I have my certificate - 16 year olds 50cc and 17 or over up to 125cc.


What day can I book a CBT course - CBT training is normally conducted at weekends but weekday courses are available by arrangement.


If using my own bike what do I need - Tax, Insurance, L-plates front & rear and a valid MOT certificate if your machine is 3 years or older.


What hire bikes do you have - Honda Sky Moped and Honda CG 125cc.


How long does the course last - Usually one day, unless you are having difficulties.


Do you have gloves and a safety helmet I can use - We have a limited stock you may use.

How old do I have to be - 17 or over.


Can I ride any size motorcycle once I have passed - You will be restricted to a 33 bhp motorcycle for 2 years.


What hire bikes do you have - Honda CG 125cc.

Direct Access Scheme (DAS)

How old do I have to be - 21 or over.


Do I still need a CBT - You will have to complete a CBT course.


How long does the course last - We run 3, 4 or 5 day DAS courses.


What hire bikes do you have - Honda 600 Hornet and Kawasaki ER 500
